WHEN IS THE HOTEL LIVE EXPERIENCE?
All of the experiences in the Hotel Live Experience will take place during the week of 25th – 29th September 2017.
HOW LONG DO THE EXPERIENCES GO FOR?
There is a huge variety of experiences – some go for an hour, some last an afternoon, some take place over a whole day and there are even some that go for the whole week. Your best bet is to check out our list of experiences and find out what works for you!
WHAT EXACTLY IS THE HOTEL LIVE EXPERIENCE?
It’s a choice of events and experiences across our participating hotels that offer insights and the opportunity to get hands on so you can find out what it is really like to work in hotels. It’s like work experience for the 21st Century. There are over 80 experiences across a huge range of interest areas.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
We invite high school students, tertiary (university, TAFE etc) students, young professionals, young professionals already working in the accommodation industry, and anyone who is looking for a career change to register for the Hotel Live Experience. There are plenty of experiences for under 18s and over 18s alike. Note that some experiences are only available to Australian residents / citizens. As these events are all based in NSW, only residents of NSW are eligible.
WILL I DEFINITELY GET A PLACE IN THE EXPERIENCES I REGISTER FOR?
At this stage, the registration process is a registration of interest only. Some of our experiences are incredibly popular or require a certain level of experiences or education. The participating hotels will be given the final choice as to who will be offered place/s in each experience. You will be advised of the experiences for which you have been accepted later in August.

There are a huge variety of experiences across a number of professional interest areas including marketing, sales, finance, IT, Hotel Operations, events, food and beverage, engineering and culinary. From 1 hour back of house hotel tours, to “General Manager for a day”, to helping run a five-star restaurant, to one-week internships – there’s something for everyone in the 2017 Hotel Live Experience.
