What does my role entail? I’m an all-rounder

Why do you like working in Hotels? Range of different departments I work across.

What surprised you about working in hotels? The number of guests coming through the hotel.

What my career has looked like to date: I started as a waitress, then stepped up to team leader, I was multi-hired as a chef to work in a different department and was then promoted to duty manager.

During your time at this Hotel, what has been your proudest moment? Guests recognise the effort I put in and appreciate my service.

What has been your greatest professional achievement to date? Employee of Year 2014.

Where do you wish to go from here? I want to have my own restaurant.

Why do you like working in the accommodation industry? The staff benefits (discounted hotels) are great!

What message do you have to tell others about working in the accommodation industry? It is much more exciting than working 9-5 at an office.

Have you met anyone famous during your career in Hotels? Yes. Many times.

What training have you received from your employer as part of your professional development? Leadership. Personal Development Program.

Do you manage people? If yes, what is that like? Yes, it can be challenging but also rewarding.
